La Tradición” represented a great personal and professional experience for us. Furthermore, our work was distinguished by the” Gourmand World Cookbooks Awards “, granting us the recognition of “The best regional cuisine publication in Spain“.

Today we show you new photographs from the book “Cocina de Canarias. La evolución“. The editing and photographic production of this book represented a before and after in our professional career and an unforgettable experience. This project was born and developed thanks to the collaboration between two prestigious Canarian chefs, Rogelio Quintero and Pedro Rodríguez Dios , and us, Roger Méndez Photography.
Gastronomic photography is one of our passions, and even more when it comes to Canarian cuisine and elaborated by two prestigious chefs: Rogelio Quintero and Pedro Rodríguez Dios. Through this type of images, the aim is to capture the “flavour”, colour, shape and texture of each culinary creation.
In food photographs, the choice of lighting and the composition of the plate play an essential role. The speed of shooting is also important to be able to capture good photographs.
This time the photographic production work was very meticulous, taking care of every detail.
All the photographic production work for the book “Cocina Canaria. La evolución” was done withHasselbladmedium format cameras and equipment. These types of photographs require careful subsequent editing to get a good final resoult. For this reason, we develop this editing work in a second phase, in our head offices.
