Urban photography is another genre Roger Méndez offers his clients. Visiting different cities during the year gives him the opportunity to photograph both their hidden corners and archetypal locations.
Using natural light, scenes are composed using people and architectural elements. He tries to set aside one day during his trips to go on a little “photography safari” in the city, guided by someone who knows the place well.
These types of images are entirely improvised because controlling either the weather or the space being shot would be impossible. They involve capturing the impression created by the different elements and details of the city at the moment he discovers them, and are used to expand his image bank available to clients.
