We present a new selection of photographs from the book “Cocina de Canarias. La evolución“. The books “Cocina de Canarias. La evolución” and “Cocina de Canarias. La Tradición” represented a great personal and professional experience for us. Furthermore, our work was distinguished by the” Gourmand World Cookbooks Awards “, granting us the recognition of “The best regional cuisine publication in Spain“.

New photos for the book “Cocina de Canarias. La evolución”

Today we show you new photographs from the book “Cocina de Canarias. La evolución“. The editing and photographic production of this book represented a before and after in our professional career and an unforgettable experience. This project was born and developed thanks to the collaboration between two prestigious Canarian chefs, Rogelio Quintero and Pedro Rodríguez Dios , and us, Roger Méndez Photography.

Photoshooting

Gastronomic photography is one of our passions, and even more when it comes to Canarian cuisine and elaborated by two prestigious chefs: Rogelio Quintero and Pedro Rodríguez Dios. Through this type of images, the aim is to capture the “flavour”, colour, shape and texture of each culinary creation.

This work is part of our gastronomic photography service.

Photographic technique

In food photographs, the choice of lighting and the composition of the plate play an essential role. The speed of shooting is also important to be able to capture good photographs.

This time the photographic production work was very meticulous, taking care of every detail.

Photograpic Edition 

All the photographic production work for the book “Cocina Canaria. La evolución” was done with Hasselblad medium format cameras and equipment. These types of photographs require careful subsequent editing to get a good final resoult. For this reason, we develop this editing work in a second phase, in our head offices.

The photographic production for Pedro Rodríguez Dios was an unforgettable experience. Pedro Rodríguez Dios is a renowned Canarian chef, highly sought after by lovers of good food. He has a special sensitivity towards the Canarian product, offering delicate elaborations. He is a great defender of the consumption of products from the Islands, incorporating them into his desserts.
Leaving the conventional patisserie, making a difference in their elaborations and working using local products, are some of the factors that have always distinguished the work of Pedro Rodríguez Dios.
